On the 16th of December 2022, at Conference room “Serdika”, hotel “Central” was held Annual Conference “Post-COVID, wars, economics, climate – challenges and consequences to mental health in Bulgaria and Europe”.

The event was organized by Association “Sustainability for progressive and open communication”, as a part of project L.I.K.E. – Life investments are key to employment.

At the conference were presented the results from an international sociological study on the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on young people with mental health issues. There was presented the multidimensional model of working in the “Hidden Likes” Youth House, also the 4-level intervention concept for improving care for people with depression and prevention of suicidal behavior.

The conference topics included an analysis of the current world crisis – wars, climate change, economical crisis, and their effects on mental health, and a report on the increasing usage of newly-emerged, modern psychoactive substances and the consequences of it.

The lectors were: Elka Bozhkova, psychologist; Ph.D. Yuri Katsarov, psychologist; Ph.D. Vyara Ganchevam sociologist; Prof. Vladimir Chukov, politologist; Dr Tsvetelina Petkova, psychiatrist.
